How To Fabricate Radiographic Stints
for a CT Scan 


 

 

Insert a 16mm pin into the model 

Seal the pin with wax and block out the undercuts 

 

 

Apply separator to the model 

Nail polish is used to apply Barium

 

 

Nail polish is painted in the area of the proposed replacement tooth along with the Barium

Barium is added to the original suck down after the clear nail polish has been painted on the interior of the suck down 

 

 

Allow the Barium and nail polish to dry 

Provisional resin is injected into the suck down

 

 

Seat the suck down on the model over the 3/32 pins

When the provisional material is set up remove it from the model 

 

 

The pins are then rotated and removed 

After the pins are removed fill in the negative that was created by the pins with gutta percha
